The train of autumn

I rose with the lark today… and listened
As rain drummed steadily upon the roof,
The dream had lingered, melting little by little
In an autumnal song of yearn and ruth.

It is few months since all my dreams grew restless –
The demon hordes come haunting me at dawn…
I’ll draw apart the heavy curtains gently
To be with you, to let you hear my song.

I’ll fling the window open – and cold rainfall
Will whelm the hot blues of my writing ink…
My knees wrapped up in the autumnal train, I
Shall see my fears crumble away, gone with the wind.
