Neptune’s sheep

The Neptune’s sheep, the frothy whitecaps
Race carefree and play and skit –
The Ocean may be sad or whining,
But they are taking no heed!

They’ve always been self-willed and bratty –
Untamed, and ruled by no one.
The shore will rub them up…
                                       Donating
Some leafage withered by the sun…

And, gently stroking their ringlets,
It’ll calm them down for awhile…
I watch the Neptune’s sheep –
                                                and think that
Life’s way too short and volatile!
