Christmas in Dominicana

What a sight are the tropical rainstorms!
Water keeps pouring down from the sky…

This – divine – coastline with embayments
Is washed clean, dewy – and vivified!

Water drops trickle down the thick foliage,
Birds are chirping anew with delight…

May the dreams of Caribbean sweet follies
Warm my wintery Moscow nights!

I would close my eyes – and I’d hear
The swashing beat of the ocean wave.

Let these sounds subside… You are near,
And I know – you are here to stay!
