The Stellar Sketch

... A lightsome and floaty haze of my dreams,
A heavenly glow that streams through the clouds…

The Soft Melting Watch: their hands like sunbeams
Keep rushing in circles all the year around…

My heart tolls a bell, time’s tick tocking away.
I’m dreaming awake. Dali’s raving of Gala.

And yet I can see marching guards on parade,
The chimes that are laced with a snowflakes garland:

It’s Surrealism tracing routes through the night,
And I’m waking up with my heart throbbing wildly…

I dream no more: Salvador’s outside
My window, a star paintbrush held tightly.

He paints the starscape on my window glass –
And smiles just like Dad, his moustache curled and graying:

We got to be friends in my sleep that still lasts!..
Be jealous, oh Gala: it’s me (!) he’s portraying.
