Looking for

                                          To Natalia Nigey
“The strange cities but wear me out” —
That’s the words I might start with my rhyme…
I get tired of alien crowds,
Of the rhythmical throbbing and chime,
Of the strangers, odd people, chimeras,
Of the broken vows and dreams —
I get tired of meeting in the mirror
Own gaze, so foreign and grim.
…I was looking for my home cities,
Catching up just to say farewells,
What I looked for — a smile and a greeting,
Meant for me and not anyone else.
