A Coin

I have wandered — on purpose, yet idly.
I have loved you… Way madly and blindly.
All the world has responded in kind,
It’s just you who kept silent.
…Every day is the same as the others:
There’re Neptune’s sheep running by dozens,
Grazing on the rough seas, up and down…
I’m not scared to drown.
I’m not scared — and seek no shelter
From the spindrift and furious welter,
I will shudder and wake from a stupor:
“Where are you, my Bluebird?”
I have thrown a coin in water —
Made a wish, watched it finally plopping —
After skipping ten times on its flight!
I was quiet:
For my body to wake and resound,
I would need neither penny nor pound —
I would give all the gold of the world
For your love and devotion… That’s all.
