Beltless

The winter melts away, its time’s done.
I almost feel forthcoming of the spring.
My city’s stepping out from the dark,
But me — I am about to walk in.
I am light-headed, jet-lagged and confused:
All time belts now tangled into one.
Through all four seasons goes on my cruise
As if I’m turning clocks to catch the sun.
I’m used to crossing th’ girdle of the world,
Each time adjusting to a different clime.
But there’s Love — and answering its call
One travels disregarding routes and time.
My love!.. I am your shadow, your friend.
I am the very spirit of your breath…
Take off my cloak: so tight’s the belt —
The sky is small without your caress.
