Finally There!…

The beating of waves and the screaming of gulls,
And me — just a pilgrim, by chance landed there…
The waves rush about like snow-white darts
Yet touching my feet with the gentlest of care…
I’d enter the water — without a wince:
Its chillness or warmth doesn’t really matter.
The sand, like a mischievous beast from beneath,
Would claw at my feet — but I’d put up with this.
I’d stand it… for worse or for better.
